Management

The Founder

Rev.Dr.T.C.George, the founder of the college was born on 7th March 1916 at Karikkattu Mattathu in Eraviperoor. He had his early schooling at Thiruvalla. After schooling, he did his B.A.Degree in Economics at U.C.College Alwaye.Later in 1939 he joined the Serampore College of theological studies.

He was ordained as deacon by his Uncle Abraham Marthoma Metropolitan in February 1944.He was elected as the Secretary of the Marthoma Voluntary Evangelical Association and served that office for a long term of 15 years. Later he was appointed as principal of the Marthoma Memorial Bible Institute.

He was one of the founding fathers of the St.Thomas Evangelical Church of India. Though his ambition was to become a professor in a Christian college, the Devine will was that he should be a minister and a trainer in the church. Instead of allowing him to become a teacher in a Christian College, God made him a teacher in a Bible Seminary and used him to train hundreds of young minds for the work of His Kingdom.

Another significant contribution of this luminary was to the cause of higher education. Enlightened by the inner sense of social service and strengthened by God, he started the Bishop Abraham Memorial College in 1965, in the name of his Uncle, Dr.AbrahamMarthoma Metropolitan. He served and guided this center of higher learning as the Manager from 1965 to 1999.He was called to eternal rest on 3rd March 1999.

Great visionary Rev.Dr.T.C.George along with certain other like minded personalities joined together and formed the B.A.M.Trust Association, which acts as the Management of the Bishop Abraham Memorial College, started in 1965.The intention of the management is to open doors of Higher Education to the marginalised section of the society. The management always gives all support and encouragement to the Academic community of the college.
